Here is a menu of services I currently offer. If you're looking for something different, feel free to email me at museumdistrictela@gmail.com. I'll see what I can do!
This service is offered to middle, high, and college students.
This service covers the full scope of the writing process, from brainstorming to proofreading and everything in between. We will work together to develop a piece that you're proud of!
Please bring a copy of any materials related to the assignment (prompt, rubric, syllabus, etc.) that may have been provided. Bringing a writing sample (such as a past essay) would be helpful if we are primarily addressing concerns related to style or grammar, but it isn’t necessary.
This service is offered to middle and high school students who are currently enrolled in public or private school, or to homeschoolers who already follow a primary curriculum.
When you think of “tutoring,” this service is most likely what you have in mind. This option is intended to serve as reinforcement for the skills and concepts presented in a primary classroom. For example, you may opt for a session that focuses entirely on practicing grammar rules, strengthening reading comprehension, working on a homework assignment, or more! Want to tackle multiple goals in one session? No problem! This highly customizable session is the way to go.
Please bring any homework assignments, textbooks, or other relevant materials that the primary instructor has provided. In addition, if we are discussing a book or other assigned text, please bring a copy if possible. An e-book or digital resource is fine as well! I’m also happy to bring library materials.
This service is offered to middle and high school students who are homeschooled and do not currently follow a primary ELA curriculum.
This highly customizable service provides your student with primary instruction in the language arts. Please email me directly to set up a consultation to discuss your specific needs and expectations.
The test is standardized, but your student is not! Every learner is different, and it is my intention for this service to reflect that. In this test prep package, we will work on practice problems together to gauge your student’s level of comfort and confidence with different types of questions and essay prompts. From there, we will focus on building up specific skills and knowledge bases to target weak spots, and to reinforce your student’s strengths. We will also focus on developing test-taking strategies and building your student’s confidence for exam day!
I currently offer the following exams: SAT Reading; SAT Writing and Language; SAT Essay ; ACT Reading; ACT English; ACT Writing; CLEP Psychology; CLEP Sociology; CLEP Growth and Human Development
